Ninth grade English consists of mastering literary terms found in all genres of literature as well as grammar preparation for the End of Course Test which is the final exam. Students must pass the EOC to advance to 10th grade English. Ninth grade English also emphasizes how to read passages for main idea, details, fact vs. opinion, and determining word meanings through context.
